In 2000, Glenn Mangurian invited a small group of fellow UMass executive alums to breakfast for networking and
business connections. Based on the success of the first breakfast, the Executive Breakfast Group was formed.
The centerpiece of the group’s activities revolves around a unique program – the “Uncommon Leadership”
Series. The series showcases unique points of view and best practices on leadership from outside the traditional
business sector. Patterned after the Bravo TV series “Inside the Actors’ Studio” guests engage in an intimate and
revealing dialogue with Glenn Mangurian, the interviewer, before a live audience. The format and content differs
from other competing events. Mangurian’s research and comforting interview style has prompted his guests to
share their unique perspective on leadership.
Boston is rich in word class talent from the arts, education, healthcare and other fields. The series draw on
recognizable names who offer their perspectives and lessons learned about a particular facet of leadership.
